How Young is Too Young to Get a Massage?

This little cheeky monkey was getting the benefits of massage therapy in utero as her mom got sessions at least once a month (and more frequently as time went by) while she was pregnant.

She's one cool and relatively mellow kid, I'm told, and I like to think I had a little something to do with that!

Mom and dad still come regularly for massage sessions, acknowledging how beneficial the therapy is for daily aches and pains associated with baby raising like sore shoulders, arms and backs, as well as how good it is for stress relief and relaxation for those who aren't necessarily getting all the sleep or restful moments they should.

Oh - and she has some awesome taste in bib fashion, if I do say so myself!

To young, never! Ther have been quite a few studies about touch and how important it is in development.
When an animal is born the mother cleans it but pays particular attention to the perinium. It is thought this initial stimulation is vital.
As for humans to be touched is to be loved and supported on some level, it is the most primal but powerful thing. Done with good intention how can it ever be wrong.
Our bodies are shaped and formed by touch and pressure in the womb, to continue this onward after birth is a vital part of the growth process.
It has been noted that even the pressure from the birth canal stimulates immune response and those born by C section have a less robust immune function.
